This is the front entry path (coming from the railroad grade in the background) to the front porch of the Inn. The old path was poorly installed. Essentially the stones were laid over said and grouted. Needless to say - many had come loose and were tripping hazards. I constructed and poured a cement slab (complete with rebar) over which we reinstalled the stones along with coloring the mortar a darker shade of grey to match the stone work that wasn't removed. This was more difficult because of the fact that the Inn is far removed from hardware and/or concrete supplies. All the concrete for the work had to be hand mixed.
