This is the rear portion of the building. Prior to our workhere the cabin's back wall (pictured here) was exposed to the bare hillside. For years much dirt had piled up against the back of the cabin. Much of the old shingling had beenruined (it was redwood). Our solution was to build the steel I beam wall (on the left here) and to reshingle and repaper the wall (on the right) of the cabin. And at the base of the wall is where we placed a new perimeter footing along the length of the wall. We did all the concrete mixing and placement by hand.
